Stevivor.com started off as a humble little one-man operation, but things sure are changin’! With 7 regular contributors as of September 2011, the site is constantly on the lookout for gamers and tech-heads to submit their own reviews for worldwide consumption.
What we’re looking for
We’ve got a lot of WP7 and Xbox fanboys around the office, so we’re definitely on the lookout for supporters of other consoles! Are you a Nintendo fanboy? Do you have an obsessive compulsive personality when it comes to obtaining PS3 trophies? PERFECT. This doesn’t mean that Xbox gamers aren’t sought after — just make sure you’re not writing a review that’s already on the site.
Ideal reviews would be honest, well-researched, around 500 words, in AP style guide, and with at least two images or videos to bundle with your words. For examples of varying reviews on Stevivor.com, check out the “Latest Reviews” panel on the right-hand side of this – or any – page.
When writing, remember that games are in italics, chapters/levels are “in quotations,” and CAPITALS can be used for emphasis. Headings, use heading styles — but don’t worry, we can teach you all this in the editing phase of your work.
What we can offer
This is a mixed bag of offerings. Stevivor.com currently has media relations with Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, EA and EA Sports, Capcom, Sega, Konami/Mindscape, 2K Games, Namco Bandai and THQ, meaning we do get free review copies of games from time to time.
Basically, what we CAN offer you here and now is exposure — Stevivor.com receives an average of approximately 15,000 unique page views per week. What we MAY be able to offer you in return for reviews are free copies of said games (again, where we can!) — if we are offered a title, we’ll get in touch with the review base to see who’s interested in giving the title a crack. Additionally, if there’s a title your passionate about, let us know and we will see what we can arrange. As far as monetary compensation goes — sorry, if you’re not writing for the love of the craft, Stevivor.com isn’t a good fit for you.
