Atlus confirms North American releases for four previously announced Japan only Persona titles

Last year Atlus revealed that four new games in the Persona franchise would be released in Japan. It’s now been announced that all four games will be released in North America through 2014-2015.

The games in question are Persona 4 Arena UltimaxPersona 5Persona 4: Dancing All Nighand Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is an enhanced re-release of Persona 4 Arena which was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand last year. The enhanced version will be released for PS3 only in 2014 and features two new characters from Persona 3 on the roster as well as new character Sho Minazuki.

Persona 5 will come to PS3 in 2015 and is the next main game in the Persona series. Aside from a release window and the teaser above there’s no other information regarding the game at this time. Atlus are staying tight lipped about it, but as soon as we know more we’ll share it with you.

One of the stranger titles is the Vita exclusive Persona 4: Dancing All Night which is due for release in 2015. In the game popstar Rise returns to Inaba and finds the Midnight Stage which is infested with evil shadows. Instead of being defeated in the traditional Persona style of turn based, elemental combat, the shadows can only be defeated by break dance fighting, or so we assume.

Finally, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will be coming to 3DS in Spring 2014 (Fall for you North Americans). Persona Q is a dungeon crawling game Atlus calls a cross between Etrian Odyssey and Persona. In the game characters from Persona 2 and 3 will explore an alternate Yasogami High School from a first person perspective.

There’s been no word on a western release other than in North America, but if Australian/New Zealand release dates are announced we’ll be sure to spread the word.
