Xbox 360, One controller support now available on Steam

Steam’s newest client update has hit beta, offering native support for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers.

The update means that players can use the Steam Controller Configurator to map Xbox controllers in addition to PS4 and other generic controllers without the need for additional software.

Previously, game developers were required to add Xbox controller support into their titles individually. This update now means that players can then remap keyboard controls to the controller of their choice without any additional work from the developer.

Have at it!
