Riot Games acquires fighting game development studio

Riot Games, uber-famous for League of Legends has just purchased fighting game studio Radiant Entertainment.

Radiant has made a free, online fighter called Rising Thunder. The studio boasts the talents of Seth Killian, formerly of Street Fighter and Capcom fame, alongside Evolution Championship Series creators Tom and Tony Cannon.

Rising Thunder will be taken offline on 18 March, while a town-building simulator called Stonehearth will continue development under the banner of Riot itself.

“As for Rising Thunder, the team will start work on a new game that we’re incredibly excited about,” Radiant’s website reads. “We wish we could say more now, but rest assured you’ll hear more when the time is right.”
