Overkill now owns the rights to Payday, removing microtransactions from Payday 2

Developer Overkill has announced that they’ve dissolved their partnership with 505 Games and now own the rights to the Payday franchise. As a result, they’ll be retooling Payday 2, removing microtransactions and supporting the game for the next 18 months.

The move comes after considerable backlash to said microtransactions, added into the game in October of last year.
