Avalanche Software: Disney Infinity developer reforms under Warner Bros. to make Cars 3

Avalanche Software, the developer behind the cancelled Disney Infinity franchise, has reformed under Warner Bros. to make Cars 3, the publisher today confirmed.

It was also confirmed today that John Blackburn will lead the studio.

“The Avalanche talent and technology are a great addition to our group of outstanding developers, and we are excited for this Cars 3 game as well as all of the future games the team will create under John’s leadership,” said Warner Bros.’ David Haddad via statement.

Disney closed Avalanche Software down last May, also confirming it would no longer self-publish titles. Disney Infinity, Avalanche’s popular toys-to-life franchise, was discontinued at the same time.

Cars 3 heads to movie theatres in June.
