Windows 10 Creators Update: Xbox One Beam integration, tournaments; PC 3D printing, VR and more

Microsoft’s Windows 10 Creators Update will bring a number of updates to Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

Gaming  on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs

Beam, Microsoft’s newly acquired Twitch-like streaming service, will be integrated into Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs as part of the update.

The Arena feature, allowing for tournament creation, was also detailed. This feature is again for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

Finally, Bitstream Audio Pass, which also supports Dolby Atmos, was confirmed for inclusion inside Xbox One.

3D inside Windows 10

“With the Creators Update, you and the millions of other Windows 10 users will turn on your laptop and be able to start capturing in 3D, printing in 3D, creating in 3D, sharing in 3D, and experiencing mixed reality,” Microsoft advised.

To support this initiative, a number of 3D headsets will be available next year. Microsoft will partner with HP, ASUS, Acer, Lenovo and Dell to accomplish this.
