Pokémon Go: Here’s how the updated Nearby system works

Pokémon Go‘s recent update has again changed the Nearby tracking system, and we’ve got a bit of an explanation for it for you, below.

Some users have Nearby and Sightings options accessible in the lower-right of their screens, while others simply have Sightings.

Sightings will basically act like the Nearby of past updates did, showing Pokémon that are reasonably close to you. Unfortunately, there’s no step gauge to judge how close or far you are from your goal.

Some players also have Nearby, which will actually show proper details of where select Pokémon are.

Are you one of the lucky ones with both systems?

We’ll continue to keep you updated as more is known.
