Microsoft refunding Xbox Fitness purchases ahead of the app’s closure

Users have taken to NeoGAF to report that Microsoft has begun to refund money to those who’ve spent up within Xbox Fitness.

Xbox Fitness will be closing on [7 January 2017],” an Xbox Live message reads to those who’ve had a refund processed. “Because you made purchases, we have deposited a credit into your account. This credit will expire on [31 December 2017]. Please visit account.microsoft.com to see your account balances.”

It appears that any in-app purchases — usually, specific fitness training programs — are being refunded.

Much to the chagrin of its user base, Microsoft announced that Xbox Fitness would be shuttered back in June. Users have taken to the Xbox Voice feedback website to protest.
