Microsoft has announced its purchased video game livestream company Beam.
The self-described “interactive livestreaming service” allows people to watch — and, most importantly, play — along with livestreams.
In a post on the Microsoft Blog, the company said a user could watch another play Minecraft and provide challenges through “simple video controls.” Similar applications could be used in titles like Rare’s upcoming Sea of Thieves.
“We look forward to sharing more about Beam and our vision for interactive game streaming in the future,” Microsoft concluded.
