Windows 10 Anniversary update comes in August, brings Xbox Play Anywhere and more

Microsoft today dated the Windows 10 Anniversary update for August.

From 2 August, you can expect the update on both PCs and — hopefully — day and date on the Xbox One itself.

The PC update will prepare the platform for Xbox Play Anywhere, the cross-platform, cross-buy service announced at E3.

Over on Xbox One, Cortana will be enabled for use alongside language region independence and background music. The console portion of the update is already with Preview Program users.

Both storefronts will be combined into one with the update as well.
