A leaked McDonald’s email has delayed Pokémon Go’s launch in Japan

A leaked McDonald’s email has prompted developer Niantic to delay the launch of Pokémon Go in Japan.

Tech Crunch yesterday reported that the game’s Japanese launch would correspond with 3,000 McDonald’s-sponsored Gyms, causing much excitement for fans in the region.

The launch was scheduled for today, but hasn’t come to pass. Rumour has it, the news of the leaked email prompted Niantic to worry over server strain.

Now, the Nikkei reports that Pokémon Go will launch tomorrow. Niantic hasn’t confirmed the date.
