Sony appears to deep in planning, gearing up not only for a full PlayStation 4.5, or Neo, reveal, but the console’s potential release.
Jim Ryan of Sony Global Sales and Marketing said the publisher’s decision to attend Gamescom hadn’t been made yet.
“Honestly, we haven’t decided yet,” Ryan said, adding that the timing of an upcoming announcement — not detailed, but expected to be the PS4.5 Neo — was impacting the decision.
Ryan added that Sony’s usual European event mightn’t be in the form of Gamescom of Paris Games Week this year, as there are other potential consumer events in Madrid and Milan.
The news comes as Digital Foundry reports that the PS4.5 Neo will see a release this year.
“Several sources have indicated to me that PlayStation Neo launches this year, despite its E3 no-show,” the site reports, citing various sources.
