The Xbox One can now be turned into a dev kit

At Microsoft’s Build conference today, the publisher confirmed that Xbox One consoles can be turned into dev kits.

Announced as a feature back in 2013, Microsoft today declared that a preview of the dev kit program will be available later today.

Those with developer accounts will be able to download the Xbox Dev Mod app from the Xbox Store, and then register using their developer details. A single button press will then reboot the console into dev kit mode.

Developers will be able to pair the dev kit console with Visual Studio to remotely deploy apps to the console itself.

We’ll have more on this feature alongside more Build news throughout the day.
