Microsoft is committed to bringing Xbox games and franchises to Windows PC

Microsoft today detailed it is “committed” to bringing Xbox One games and franchises to Windows PC, but doesn’t plan to bring everything across.

“Microsoft is committed to bringing [the] biggest franchises from Xbox to Windows,” Xbox head Phil Spencer said to IGN. “We’ve said that. It doesn’t mean, necessarily, that every game ends up on both platforms, because there could be some differences in how things play.”

“We also look at Windows as something critical to the success of Microsoft, and the gaming group looks at making positive impact on Windows 10 as a gaming platform,” Spencer continued.

“We like to focus on what people can play, not what they can’t play because I don’t think that’s a great way of growing our industry. I want to make sure that when people play on our platforms they have the broadest set of game to go play, but we are also more committed to our console than we have ever been.”

It was recently announced that former Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break would also release on Windows PC. Moreover, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has just been released on Windows PC, while a free-to-play version of Forza 6 will also be made available.
