Nintendo reveals 2015’s most popular amiibo

As part of an investor briefing, Nintendo released 2015 sales details for their popular amiibo figurines.

In Europe — and we believe Australia is lumped in with the region — the classic Mario figure still reigned supreme, followed by Link and the Inkling Squid. In North America, Link topped the sales list, followed by Bowser and Toon Link. Finally, in Japan, Splatoon couldn’t be beat — Inkling Girl, Squid and Boy took the top spots.

It was also revealed that amiibo sales have caused production to increase; purchases in the first and second quarters of 2015 were less than half of sales in the third quarter, thanks to renewed supply.

Are you still on an amiibo buying binge?
