Ah, 2015. What a year, full of amazing games, brilliant headlines… and of course, total and utter flops. Enter the Wooden Spoon.
A wonderful Aussie tradition, it basically mocks the worst of the worst. Fittingly, Stevivor’s picked out two very deserving recipients for 2015: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and Konami as a whole.
Tony Hawk’s is actually good — now — but a woeful launch simply cannot be forgiven. Activision Blizzard should have simply delayed release rather than offering up the bulk of the game as a (still broken) day one patch. It’s as easy as that.
While we mostly love the open world craziness that is Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, we’re not about to forgive Konami for all the weirdness around it. Simply put, Hideo Kojima‘s treatment by the publisher over the past year is inexcusable.
We start 2016 with a bang tomorrow, awarding Stevivor’s overall Game of the Year 2015.
