Though one of the big selling points of the new Xbox One Elite controller is button mapping, Microsoft has recently confirmed that the feature is coming to all Xbox One controller types.
The feature seems to be part-and-parcel with the upcoming New Xbox One Experience, as Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra stated on Twitter:

Microsoft hasn’t set a specific date on the New Xbox One Experience or controller mapping specifically.
