The weather in The Division will affect how you play

The weather and environment effects included in The Division are not just to look pretty. They’ll actually affect how you play and according to a post on the title’s website, players will need to learn how to react to a range of different weather events.

While playing, players will encounter storms that will actually hinder aim-assist and the visibility of other players and NPCs. Players will also encounter different types of Agents, enemies, civilians and animals depending on the weather conditions.

Dark and light will also play a significant role on the gameplay as during the night, lights will attract NPCs, while areas without any light will be absolutely pitch black. Additionally, players will find the mood of missions will be entirely different during the day as compared to the night.

While playing, if unfavourable weather conditions present themselves, players can take shelter in the many buildings of Manhattan and wait the storm out. In doing so, the transition will be seamless and players will experience a whole range of dynamic lighting, art design and of course internal environmental effects.

The Division will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One from 8 March 2016.
