Supermassive Games: We are considering episodic DLC for Until Dawn

Until Dawn has become a surprise sleeper hit for Sony and developer Supermassive Games and while nothing has been confirmed, Supermassive has said it is considering episodic DLC for the title.

Speaking with PlayStation LifestyleUntil Dawn’s  Executive Producer Pete Samuels discussed how the team was considering DLC, but also the challenges it presents due to the way they story is structured. Samuels explained “The underlying ‘truths’ in the story are pretty sacred. If an expansion of any kind required us to change a truth then we wouldn’t be happy doing it. We get asked a lot for a happy ending for one character in particular. We can’t see how that could work without breaking some important truths. I’m not ruling out DLC, we just haven’t yet found the right context for it.”

Samuels also revealed that Supermassive Games is considering a sequel for the title, especially as it has sold much better than anticipated. Finally, Samuels said that any fans waiting for a PlayStation VR version of Until Dawn will have to keep waiting as there are no plans in the works. “We don’t expect that there’ll be an edition of the Until Dawn story to be playable in VR anytime soon.”

Until Dawn is available exclusively for PS4.
