Star Wars: Battlefront’s Fighter Squadron mode includes hero vehicles

In Star Wars: Battlefront, players can pick up hero token to become Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker etc and for a short time deal heavy damage to the opposing team. Now, DICE has revealed that a similar principle is included within the title’s Fighter Squadron mode.

Fighter Squadron is set entirely in the air and has players dog-fighting as TIE Fighers, X-Wings and more. Just like in other modes, Fighter Squadron’s Hero tokens allow players to become powerful and iconic characters from the film series. In Fighter Squadron, players can pilot the Millennium Falcon or Slave I which can turn the tide of battle.

DICE explains, “Should you spot the Millennium Falcon or Slave I as a regular starship pilot, your best bet is to stay behind them and try to team up with other players. Since the Rebel and Imperial standard ships are smaller than the Hero Vehicles, you can also dive against the planetary surface and use crevices to shake off Solo’s or Fett’s pursuit.”

Star Wars: Battlefront will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One from 17 November.
