A real-life Pokémon Gym is opening in Japan

Pokémon’s plans for real-world domination is getting one step closer with news of an actual Pokémon Gym opening in Osaka, Japan.

The Pokémon Expo Gym — billed as a hands-on edutainment venue — will open 19 November in the Japanese city and will give fans a chance to learn training tips, Pokémon activities and even have a conversation with a Pokémon.

Various training programs featured in the gym will allow visitors to gain special rewards in X, Y, Alpha Sapphire, and Omega Ruby including special Pokémon. A smartphone app tied to the Gym will be released next month ahead of the opening and will allow visitors to track their stats and ranking at the Gym.

With this news, the Pikachu Build-a-Bear announcement and Pokémon Go on the horizon there seems to be no stopping the Pokémon machine.
