Minecraft on Windows 10 is cross-play enabled with the Pocket Edition

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition is currently in beta and the most recent update enables cross-play with Minecraft Pocket Edition.

By connecting to the same local network, up to five players will be able to play together across Android, iOS, PC and Windows Phone. Also included in the update is the ability for five friends to play together over Xbox Live.

Minecraft Pocket Edition has also been updated to allow for touch controls, controller mapping, enhanced weather effects, additional items and the ability to explore The Nether.

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta and Minecraft Pocket Edition are available now.
