Hitman delayed until 2016 to offer more content at release

IO Interactive advised it will be delaying Hitman into 2016.

Now scheduled for March 2016, the delay will add more content to the title at launch.

“These few extra months will mean we can add more to the launch content of the game, more than we had originally planned, and then follow with a tighter frequency of updates, which ultimately will create a better game for everyone,” IO Interactive advised via the Hitman blog.

IO Interactive has been under fire for the way in which it planned to release Hitman. Originally planned for December, the developer said most content wouldn’t be available at launch, later asserting fans shouldn’t think of the title as an early access-type release. Looks like IO and Square Enix have gone back on that plan.
