Bungie: Recasting of Ghost due to “Hollywood nonsense”

According to Destiny’s Executive Producer Mark Noseworthy, Peter Dinklage is being replaced by Nolan North, not because Bungie was unhappy with Dinklage, but because of “Hollywood nonsense.”

Dinklage’s commitments to film and TV make him hard to pin down and as Noseworthy states in an interview with GameInfomer, when it comes to Nolan North, voicing games “is his thing.” Noseworthy adds, “You can just call him up and say, ‘Hey, next week we’re doing this internal play test and it would be great to get some Ghost dialogue in there,’ And he’s available.”

North will replace Dinklage as the AI companion Ghost once “The Taken King” launches in September and will re-record all of Ghost’s dialogue throughout the entire game.

“The Taken King” will be available 15 September.

Destiny is available now for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
