Call of Duty: Black Ops III features 100 years of lore

In an interview with Polygon, Treyarch’s studio head Mark Lamia and campaign director Jason Blundell have revealed some of the scope of the story in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The conclusion of the Black Ops trilogy will include an in game wiki in an effort to both flesh out and inform the lore of the world they have built over the three games that span over hundred years.

Indeed the world they have created and the time span the games cover needs this kind of resource, as governments react to events and large gaps in time need to be filled. The way Lamia describes it their world has snowballed and the attention to detail required has grown along with that to the point where the team are detailing the surgical procedures soldiers would undergo for augmentation.

Interestingly Lamia and Blundell also say that they would be open to going further into the future in the Call of Duty series. Is Call of Duty: Bald Space Marines in our future? For now we will have to be satisfied with the conclusion of the Black Ops trilogy on 6 November.
