Xbox One PC adapter will only work with Windows 10

Microsoft announced today the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, which will finally allow use of a wireless Xbox One controller on the PC. The catch? You will need Windows 10.

The wireless adapter will allow support for in game chat and stereo audio through the controller, but I can’t help but feel this restriction is needless. The Xbox 360 controller has become the go to gamepad for PC gamers since its release, so it is surprising it took Microsoft so long to get a solution together for the Xbox One controller, and more surprising that they limit it to adopters of (the admittedly free for many) Windows 10 upgrade.
