Diablo III’s latest patch starts public testing soon, makes a lot of changes

When patch notes have a table of contents you know there are some significant changes. Diablo III is about to start the public test for patch 2.3.0, and while you can read the full patch notes here, you might want to have a bit of time free before you dig in. Here are the cliff notes:

  •  A new zone, “Ruins of Sescheron”
  • A new artifact, Kanai’s Cube, which will allow breaking down Legendary items and equipping their special effects as passive skills and converting the type of crafting materials
  • Improvements to the crafting system so that crafting materials are never wasted regardless of your level
  • Updates to bounties and the pacing of Adventure Mode
  • Progress tracking split by in game “seasons”
  • New difficulty levels and legendary items
  • Tweaks to enemy behaviour and experience rewards

Blizzard hasn’t given a date for the rollout of Patch 2.3.0, but expect it soon on the Public Test Realm service before a full release.
