A free update to Evolve is being released today, debuting a new game type: Arena Mode. It essentially removes the hunt aspect of the game and provides a straight monster vs hunter battle.

Will this be enough to bring players back to Turtle Rock’s struggling 4v1 shooter? I hope so, I think Evolve took some out of proportion criticism for its microtransaction model but the free release of new maps and game modes has always been in Turtle Rock’s plans. Arena Mode is available today for all versions of Evolve.
