So we may have jumped the gun after seeing a release date for Halo: ODST within the Master Chief Collection on the Xbox Store yesterday. Turns out that date was a placeholder, and while final testing continues no official date can be provided as yet.
343 Industries has clarified the situation on Twitter, you can see their response below. Halo: ODST was originally promised to arrive for the Master Chief Collection in May, but if this store date was incorrect it seems unlikely they will make that deadline, though it shouldn’t be much longer if in final testing.

Halo: ODST is a make good for Halo: The Master Chief Collection having broken multiplayer functionality up to three months after release for some players. It is a HD re-release of the Xbox 360 Halo side story focusing on regular soldiers rather than the Master Chief.
