Batman: Arkham Knight’s disruptor rifle, explained

Rocksteady yesterday detailed a new bat-gadget seen in the most recent Batman: Arkham Knight trailer: the distruptor rifle.

In keeping with tradition, the rifle doesn’t shoot bullets but jams enemy weapons.

The rifle has three shots per engagement and is also capable of exploding enemy weapons (using two of three charges), rigging weapon crates and tagging vehicles for the Batmobile to chase down.

Rocksteady says the weapon is especially useful in Predator mode.

“The Disruptor has an extensive selection of upgrades to choose from – each providing their own unique advantage to Batman,” Rocksteady said in its post.

“For example, the ‘additional charge’ upgrade provides more simultaneous options for each engagement, allowing additional greater situational control over the devices and weapons that could become an obstacle.”

Batman: Arkham Knight is out in June on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
