Assassin’s Creed Syndicate won’t have a companion app

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will not be burdened by a companion app, addressing one of the more common complaints about the series’ next-gen debut, Unity. Eurogamer has spoken to representative of Ubisoft who confirmed there will not be a companion app for Syndicate.

Hopefully this is a reaction to Unity feedback and an indicator that Ubisoft are listening to fans after the general backlash the latest iteration of the series received for locking in game content behind the companion app and clogging up the in game map. Multiplayer functionality has also been removed from Syndicate, leaving the team to focus on the core experience of the game.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate arrives 23 October for PS4 and Xbox One, with no release date announced for PC.
