Report: Windows 10 to launch late July

The Verge is reporting that Windows 10 is likely to launch in late July. In an earnings call by AMD, CEO Lisa Su revealed the launch window when answering a question about inventory.

“With the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up,” Su said.

Microsoft said it plans to release Windows 10 in summer (southern hemisphere’s winter), but didn’t announce an actual release date. While AMD’s revelation doesn’t specify an exact date and could be inaccurate it does coincide with that Microsoft has previously announced.

Expect more information and a possible release date at Build, held in San Francisco at the end of this month.
