Star Wars: Battlefront features playable heroes and villains including Darth Vader

Star Wars: Battlefront will let players become iconic heroes or villains from the franchise when it launches later this year.

As players explore the maps they’ll discover power-ups that will grant abilities like a massive shield, extra powerful explosives or even their own X-Wing or Walker. The biggest and baddest of these is the Hero power-up which will allow players to play as famous Heroes and Villains from the Star Wars universe.

Once the Hero power-up is activated, a player will spawn for one life as incredibly powerful characters, including Darth Vader and Boba Fett, and potentially turn the tide of battle for their team. When playing as Vader, players will have access to his iconic red lightsabre and force choke. Details on Boba Fett’s abilities have not yet been revealed.

While DICE couldn’t reveal which other Heroes we’ll see when Battlefront is released, Producer Craig McLeod told Stevivor, “I can absolutely confirm that you can pilot the Millennium Falcon.” Whether that means it’s considered a ‘Hero’ character or not remains to be seen.

Star Wars: Battlefront launches for PC, PS4 and Xbox One 17 November 2015.
