Final Fantasy Type-0 HD director Hajime Tabata was at a launch event for the game in Hong Kong last week and revealed artwork that he teased was for the already in development sequel.
Dubbed Final Fantasy Type-Next by Games Talk it was revealed by Tabata to have been in development since the original Type-0 had been completed. Tabata is now the lead on Final Fantasy XV so development on Type-0’s sequel has been halted, however it was revealed this week by NeoGAF that Type-0 HD includes a secret cutscene — absent from the original — that hints at and gives clues about the sequel. It should go without saying, but the cutscene (embedded below) is riddled with spoilers.
Tabata said at the event that he’s like to continue developing the sequel, but his time is occupied by Final Fantasy XV at present.
Final Fantasy Type-0 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One. You can read our review here.
