DmC: Devil May Cry has sexually suggestive dialogue cut from its Definitive Edition

DmC: Devil May Cry Definitve Edition on Xbox One and PS4 has had a slight change to a sexually suggestive portion of its dialogue.

In the original version of DmC, an exchange between the evil Mundus and his mistress, Lilith, goes like this:

Mundus: “I will control the world through debt. I have absolute power.”

Lilith: “The world is at last your bitch, as am I. Nothing left but to grab it by the hair, bend it over and —”

In the Definitive Edition, the conversation ends at “bitch”.

Speaking to Eurogamer, who made the find, developer Ninja Theory said the change wasn’t made due to censorship, but rather because Developer Ninja Theory denied it was censoring its game. The studio’s chief creative director told Eurogamer that “frankly, we didn’t like the line”. Moreover, the cut dialogue was “irrelevant to the scene.”

Our review of DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition will be available shortly.
