Danganronpa 3 in the early stages of development

Danganronpa 3 is in the “very early” stages of development according to writer Kodaka Kazutaka.

Speaking to Polygon, via translator, Kazutaka said “Until everything’s been written, there’s nothing that’s set. So to answer your question, it’s still very early because the scenario isn’t written yet.” when asked about the scenario for the third game in the series.

Regarding the overarching narrative, Kazutaka said that in Japan fans are split. “Half of them want to continue with [a] small group and what happens within there, and the other half wants more of the bigger story.” Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and sequel Goodbye Despair both featured similar gameplay and storylines, while spinoff Ultra Despair Girls went in a more action oriented direction.

Both Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodye Despair are available for PS Vita in Australia. Ultra Despair Girls is coming to Australia, for Vita in 2015. No word as yet if Danganronpa 3 will be released in the west.
