ClayFighter rises from the dead in 2016

Remember ClayFighter? It’s okay if you don’t, the last time the series was spotted in the wild was all the way back in 1998. It comes from an era where graphical novelty was enough for a title to stand out, but Interplay is confident they can bring ClayFighter into the 21st century with a remake coming in 2016.

Drip Drop Games is working on the remaster, including over 20 characters from the original series and a bunch of new mechanics to bring the game up to standard including double jumps, air dashes, counters and reversals. The original is known for a good sense of humour as well as the unique claymation graphics, hopefully both are kept for this remake.

ClayFighter is targeting a 2016 release for PC.
