Turns out, LGBTQ League of Legends players are just like everyone else

After experiencing the collective rage of the internet, Garena Philippines has removed restrictions on lesbian and transgendered women in their female-only League of Legends tournament.

Previously, the league said lesbian and transgendered women “may probably have some unfair advantage” in LoL.

Garena offered up a statement today, apologising “for any offense [they’ve] caused to the LGBT and gaming communities.”

The league said it lifted vans after “re-examining” their approach to the tournament.

This reversal of Garena’s decision to limit lesbian and transgendered players to only one per team means that any woman who “self-identifies as female will be allowed to participate.”
