Telltale Games CEO calls new, original project “the most ambitious thing the company has ever done”

Gamesindustry.biz sat down with Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner to discuss the success of the studio and where they plan to go in the future.

Bruner touches on Telltale’s deal with Minecraft, the original IP they are working on and moving from having to chase IP to create games around to being offered properties to work on.

Bruner calls the original IP “probably the most ambitious thing the company has ever done”, emphasising that what Telltale has learned from their ten years experience creating interactive stories will be poured in to this game. After years of working on popular, established brands it will be interesting to see if the Telltale name itself is enough to draw an audience.

Telltale have a lot of balls in the air at the moment, with Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands in the middle of their first seasons, a game based on Minecraft and one on their original IP upcoming and successful seasons of The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us likely getting follow ups. We’ll see if their output can match their ambition with these new projects.
