The already-beleaguered Nintendo Creators Program is finding itself in hot water once again. YouTubers who’ve applied to the program are complaining of a myriad of issues connected to the process.
Originally, Nintendo stated the application process would only take two to three days, but this has already blown out considerably.
“Due to your enthusiasm for the program, we’re receiving a higher volume of applications to register channels & videos than expected,” Nintendo advised via the program’s website. “It is taking longer than we anticipated to confirm the applications. We appreciate your patience as we work through them as quickly as possible.”
Nintendo also reminded applicants that there are special rules attached to the program.
“[W]e are only able to register videos that contain game titles specified on the list of supported games,” Nintendo said, adding that, “we are only able to register channels that contain game titles specified on the list of supported games.”
Those that have channels with a combination of supported and unsupported games will have to submit each video individually.
The program was announced and placed in beta on 29 January.
