Report: Kung Lao will be playable in Mortal Kombat X

Finnish gaming magazine Pelaaja reports that Kung Lao will return for Mortal Kombat X. TestYourMight has translated some of the report for english audiences.

According to the translation, the aged Kung Lao will come with three fighting forms: Tempest, Buzz Saw and Hat Trick.

The Tempest form will allegedly focus on whirling spin attacks, while Buzz Saw will make use of Lao’s famous hat. The Hat Trick style will also allegedly let players call the hat back after and during attacks.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t get to play the story mode yet at the studio visit, but the game’s story jumps 25 or so years into the future from where MK9 ended. From what we’ve seen and heard the ruler of the Outworld is now Kotal Khan and Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade have a daughter called Cassie. Even Scorpion has a new Sub Zero to face off against. The biggest question mark right now must be Kung Lao, who has proudly aged and seems to have escaped the last game’s ending,” reads a portion of Pelaaja’s translated report.

Kung Lao has not yet been officially confirmed by NetherRealm.
