Report: PlayStation 4 to launch in China for $134 AUD less than Xbox One

Reports coming from Chinese media (as reported by Kotaku) suggest that the PlayStation 4 will launch in the region for ¥2,999 ($574 AUD) which is $134 AUD less than the price of an Xbox One without Kinect.

Xbox One launched in China for ¥3,699 without Kinect and ¥4,299 with the peripheral. While no firm release date has been announced for the consoles launch in China, it’s widely expected to be available from mid-December. Sony is also expected to launch around 50 titles for the console with many of those being Chinese language versions of games already available in other regions.

PlayStation 4 has launched at a cheaper price point than Xbox One in each and every region which is arguably one of the major reasons Sony’s console has outsold Microsoft’s in their first year on sale.
