Ubisoft’s Cubic Ninja is the key to homebrew on the Nintendo 3DS

This is sure random.

Ars Technica today reports that Ubisoft’s Cubic Ninja, a 2011 Nintendo 3DS release, is actually a key component in getting a homebrew exploit to work on the handheld console.

Hacker GBATemp made the news public today, ahead of a planned 22 November reveal.

Cubic Ninja works on 3DS much like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess did as a key component of a homebrew hack on the Wii. As such, prices for the obscure game are suddenly skyrocketing.

Australian site Vooks.net reports that EB Games has removed Cubic Ninja for sale in Australia, also marking the game up to a price point of $9,999 AUD just in case.
