Super Smash Bros becomes the fastest selling Wii U title

Things are looking up for Nintendo and the Wii U. The games library is ever expanding, Amiibos are here and Nintendo of America have just announced that Super Smash Bros. Wii U has become the fastest selling Wii U game in the US, selling nearly 500,000 units in the first three days of release.

Nintendo have a golden opportunity to capitalise on the growing pains suffered by next gen console releases and plan to take advantage further with aggressive holiday sales according to Scott Moffitt, executive VP of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. With a quality lineup of games the Wii U is carving out a niche and it will be interesting to see how it performs over Christmas compared to the PS4 and Xbox One.
