Nintendo’s amiibo’s can only store data for one game at a time

A Japanese Nintendo website has detailed exactly how amiibos will work.

“Amiibo can only store data for one read/write compatible game at a time,” Nintendo of Japan’s (translated) webpage reads. “If you wish to use the data from other read/write compatible software, please erase the data in the ‘Amiibo settings’ section of the Wii U settings menu.”

That doesn’t mean amiibos can only be used for one game, all-up; an amiibo with Super Smash Bros. data can still be placed on a reader to unlock in-game bonuses in Hyrule Warriors, as an example.

Nintendo’s amiibos arrive in Australia near the end of the month.
