Microsoft acknowledges problems with Xbox One Achievements

Despite our original report and a lack of response by Xbox Australia, Microsoft only last night acknowledged that Achievements are currently problematic on Xbox One.

Microsoft made the confirmation on the Xbox Live service status page (which now reads all is well).

Last night, the page said Xbox Live was encountering problems, meaning gamers would have difficulty with the following:

  • Accessing or retrieving data stored using cloud storage.
  • Joining other Xbox Live members in online games.
  • Managing friends lists and tracking what friends are doing.
  • Sending text messages to other Xbox Live members.
  • Unlocking achievements.
  • Viewing achievements.
  • Browsing the Xbox Video Store and the Xbox Music Store.

As reported, Xbox One users have reported issues with unlocking or viewing Achievements since roughly the time that Halo: The Master Chief Collection was released.

We’ll keep you informed as this situation progresses.
