X-Wing and TIE Fighter finally make their way to modern PCs thanks to GOG

While GOG.com are now doing their best to hide it, nothing can truly be hidden on the internet. That post is cached from the GOG forums this morning, revealing that Lucasfilm Games will be coming to the service, including the special editions of X-Wing and TIE Fighter as well as the original Sam & Max Hit the Road.

The Star Wars space shooters have been long requested by fans, with the original games near impossible to get running on modern PC’s. GOG offers a money back guarantee that games will run on current tech, which will of course apply here.

The special editions include all expansion packs for both games, although sequel X-Wing vs TIE Fighter is currently not announced. Both will sell for $9.99 USD. A countdown on the GOG front page reveals a new publisher will be announced for the service at 1AM tomorrow AEDT, bookmakers have stopped taking bets that this will be the Lucasfilm reveal.
