Warner Bros have provided a trailer showing off the features of the Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor “Season Pass”, which you can watch below. Available for $36.95 AUD, the “Season Pass” includes three story missions that see you fighting Sauron’s elite forces at the Black Gate, hunting (and taming) legendary monsters of Mordor and playing as great Elven king Celebrimbor taking on Sauron himself, retelling their battle from the Second Age.
You will also get early access to the Trials of War modes; leaderboard challenges testing speed and efficiency, along with an endless challenge. Future content is also promised but the scope of these releases is unknown at this time.
Shadow of Mordor is shaping up as a surprise game of the year contender, out now for PC (on Steam) and 8 October for current generation consoles. Those of you with access to international accounts for your service of choice might be interested to known the “season pass” is going for $24.99 USD if you want to save a couple of bucks, as this is pricey compared to recent season pass services for other games. Whether it is worth it will depend on the length and quality of these new missions, they certainly sound promising.
