Shadow of Mordor now lets you pose for photos, but only PS4 owners can take them

The latest update to Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor quietly added a photo mode to the game, allowing you to remove the UI, move the camera, zoom and add filters to the image. What it doesn’t do is actually let you take a photo, that must be done using your consoles screenshot capture, a feature that only the PS4 has at this time.

That the Xbox One lacks screenshot capability (but has extensive video capture features) is baffling, hopefully this is an indicator that screenshot functionality is coming and not just a cruel tease to Xbox One owners. There is a convoluted workaround involving recording a video of the photo mode, playing said video on your tablet using Smartglass, pausing and taking a tablet screenshot, but at that point you aren’t much worse off just pausing the game and taking a photo of the television.
